Principals
Teresa Granberry
President
Teresa Granberry, Harvest Creek president, has always loved books. Even as a young child, daily visits to the local library after school were her top priority. She feels fortunate to now fully dedicate her career to books.
She enjoys stepping into the main character’s shoes and experiencing the stories she reads. Her annual reading list spans a wide range of subjects and genres. It’s not uncommon to find a large stack of fiction and non-fiction books near her desk or on her nightstand.
For over a decade, Teresa has assisted many in realizing their dream of becoming a published author. Having written several books herself, she understands the challenges inherent in a project of this scale. As a public speaker and writing coach, she conducts workshops designed to help new authors reach their audience.
Before starting her own firm, Teresa designed book covers and edited manuscripts at a medium-sized Christian press. She has designed covers for over 150 books, with numerous Amazon bestsellers among them. She is a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) and the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA).
Sam Granberry, M.Div.
Vice President
Copyrights and contracts fall under Samuel Granberry’s business oversight. He also helps our distribution program keep books moving through various retail channels and markets. Sam spent 20 years as a minister, then transitioned to a 25-year career as a financial advisor.
Sam, a seasoned public speaker, understands the significance and difficulty of conveying messages effectively and comprehensively. He’s ideally suited to the complexities of conservative Christian book publishing! His input for our authors is invaluable. Outside of work, he’s usually bass fishing at the nearest lake.
Team Leaders
McKinsey Jones
McKinsey Jones is our marketing team lead. With a lifelong passion for books and the arts, she brings both creativity and strategy to every project. Her theatrical background as a performer, writer, and director uniquely shapes her marketing approach—blending storytelling, audience engagement, and visual impact.
She produces a wide range of materials, including press releases, social media campaigns, and launch graphics. McKinsey helps authors confidently share their message and expand their reach.
Outside of work, she is a devoted wife, homeschool mama to three, and Kids Pastor. You’ll often find her immersed in a book, crafting creative church lessons, or celebrating her children’s accomplishments. Deeply rooted in faith, family, and imagination, McKinsey is passionate about encouraging authors and helping bring meaningful stories to life.
Reese Doner
Reese Doner completed her Bachelor of Arts, English with a Creative Writing concentration, from Samford University. Writing, music, and visual arts have always been her passion, and have instilled in her sharp, detail-oriented skills. Reese’s background as a member of the literary team for the Samford journal, Wide Angle, adds valuable editing experience to our team. When analyzing a writer’s voice, she gives insightful feedback for a new manuscript. Outside of work, Reese finds joy in giving back to the community.
Donna Zagar
Donna Zagar joined the Harvest Creek team after a 28-year career in both public and private education. Having earned a Master of Science in Reading from the University of Houston Clear Lake, she taught for three years with a focus on reading comprehension. During her 17+ years in Texas public schools, she wrote detailed legal reports & evaluations as a certified Educational Diagnostician. Donna’s background also includes teaching and directing musicals in schools and churches.
She is a lifelong learner and an avid reader, and she’s thrilled to be working for a conservative Christian book publisher! Outside of work, Donna volunteers on the media team at Bridgepoint Fellowship Church in Bridge City, Texas. She also enjoys playing the piano, quilting, traveling, and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Laine McDonald
Laine is a member of our editing team. From an early age, books played a significant role in her life, leading her to pursue a career in publishing to help authors bring their story to life on pages. Her passion led her to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas A&M and a certification in Editing in Book Publishing.
She is passionate about helping writers polish their prose, sharpen their voice, and create a high-quality manuscript that’s ready for publication. Outside of work, Laine enjoys reading, completing puzzles, and taking road trips!
Meredith Block
Meredith Block is our newest addition to the team. She is interning while completing her Bachelor of Arts, English with a Literature emphasis, from Lee University. Reading and languages have been her lifelong passion.
She has a background with legal proofreading, tutoring, and editorial work for her University magazine, the Lee Review.
Meredith’s passions outside of work and her studies include community service in Tennessee, and outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, swimming, and cliff-jumping, as well as traveling. If she’s not reading a book, you’ll typically find her outside enjoying nature with friends.
We also employ a range of editors, ghostwriters, proofreaders, and advanced-copy readers. Their professional backgrounds encompass journalism, public relations, and other fields. Harvest Creek provides everything an author needs from a conservative Christian book publisher.
Many inquire about how Harvest Creek got its name. “Harvest” refers to reaping the rewards of effort or success through achievement. We see publishing a book as a significant accomplishment. And our firm excels at assisting clients to bring their books to life.
The word “Creek” denotes a small, often twisting stream. The difficulties and complexities involved in writing and publishing are undeniable. Allow us to help you navigate that intricate path more easily.
